Introduction to Sports Communication (COMM 206):As an introductory course to the study of communication and sport, I aim to engage students with both theory and practical applications of communication and sport research. Through group-based activities and discussions, I seek to facilitate students' ability to identify communication practices that affect sport, understand symbolic meanings associated with sport, situate their own experiences with sport within a larger communicative context, and evaluate cultural, political, and social issues communicated by sport.
